Terekhov writer biography
Rogova Anastasia Nikolaevna all articles journalist, literary critic. The sphere of creative interests is modern domestic literature, the dynamics and features of the development of Russian prose of the late XX - early XXI centuries. The author of a number of articles on modern literature - including in the magazines "Day and Night", "Ring A" et al. The text of PDF to quote Alexander Terekhov was among the few surprises of domestic modern literature, with one novel, jumping from little -known, rarely published authors to the advanced ranks of writers, whose books are bought up by the existing premiums.
For this, Terekhov needed ten years of hard work and-a tragic-romantic story from the KGB archives. Terekhov came to literature from journalism; For a year, he worked as a correspondent of the district newspaper in the Belgorod region, then went into the army, to the internal troops. In the year he graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of Moscow State University, after which he worked as a observer in the magazines "Spark" and "Top Secret".
In the middle of the X Terekhov, he published three books - “I ask you to forgive”, “The outskirts of the desert” and “rat”, both novels did not attract special attention and did not receive clearly approving reviews of criticism. Subsequently, only D. Bykov reminded of them, who, in a review of the Roman “Stone Bridge” mentioned that “the early prose of Terekhov excluding the very talented“ memoirs of military service ”and the debut story“ Fool ”always“ seemed to him pretentious.
In the unsuccessful but very honest essay, “Winter Day of the beginning of a new life” was felt by the author’s longing for the large style, great accomplishments and significant contexts ... ”1 The criticism practically did not write about the novel“ Ratom ”, mentioning only that this text was the last before the“ silence ”of Terekhov, who finally“ fired ”the premium“ Stone Bridge ”.
It is impossible to call the early “rat -based“ stone bridge ”, however, in this novel some characteristic features of Terekhovskoy prose are already noticeable, which causes the violent disputes of critics more than ten years later. So, the novel is relaxed on two parallel storylines-the “rat” two deratizers-hooks who came to the provincial town to work out, fall into a grandiose event for this town-the visit of the President of the Russian Federation, at that time Yeltsin and “political”, as the time is comprehended and the time for the whole country-e, when some moral values were replaced to others, the state system, the borders and the way of life of the whole country were replaced.
Corruption and collapse of the system of moral values is the second line of the plot. Terekhov will subsequently return to her in the "Germans." In the “Rat”, perhaps the first time the amazing ability of Terekhov is manifested with the help of heavy, but skilled stylistic constructions to accurately convey the sensations of heroes, reproduce a picture of events. However, it is characteristic that this manifests itself precisely in the description of rats, and not political vicissitudes: rats blinded the lamp illuminating the pit.
We walked, a bit too much for an ordinary family, for the last summer day, when the parcel is still in the dachas - in lawns and garbage dumps; On the pipe, the bunches were warmed by junior and subordinates, hanging black tails with pigtails. Whoever live - in the glomerulus sat the surroundings. The trinity of large subdominants or females gnawed by rags - no, not a rag - between the fragments of the bricks: what are they eating?
It is best to Terekhov’s fragments of the “production novel”-whether it is a description of the aromantic labor of deratizers or close tracking of the movement of cash flows that, in turn, is the everyday life of the press center of one of the Moscow prefectures of Ebergard, the hero of the late novel “Germans”. However, the “rat” is also noteworthy by the fact that here Terekhov has already found his original approach to the theme of the lyrical, to the image of a woman and love.
Women on the pages of his books are primarily a body, flesh, “legs. This is how the writer’s excellent gender perceives the beautiful floor. Here, for example, the main character of the “Rat”, the bride of a competitor of visiting deratizers: pink legs, luxurious hips, a hung waist ... And everything that is higher, no one needs and is not interesting. The hero is hammered and generally behaves extremely not comme il faut, but the bride is the bride, the nameless person falls in love with him and is ready to change the groom - with the person he sees for the first time in his life.
However, the deratizer flows into the fornication with a married accountant bank - a sailor, who knows itself the price. True, a sign of a living and reverent soul is opened - the hero is still able to fall in love with the bride, but what's the matter? Youth has passed, first love too. And then you will fall in love - you won’t get into problems. Aunt from the bank is much more convenient.
It is not a matter of naturalistic and little -known details from the life of these neighbors Homo sapiens, but in the view of the author. With all the disgust that the main character experiences, he at the same time admires rats as a perfectly organized society. The ideal order in society, a strict hierarchy corresponding to the physical and mental development of individuals, are directly opposed to the chaos that reigned in the human population of the city.
The rats are ancient, they are the colonialists who captured the world. As soon as people are mired in civil strife, rats take revenge and become masters. The parallel between rats and new representatives of the authorities and business, those who got “up” in the Time of Troubles, are obvious to the writer; At the same time, the reality of the world of people is served quite schematically, the general canvas of the plot is slightly fastened.
The hero turns out to be a powerless pawn in the game of bureaucrats, turning around by absurd - the president canceled the visit, and instead of him the deratizer himself is made up under the ruler ... After the “rat”, Terekhov fell silent for a long time. It is clear that by conducting active journalistic activities, there is no time to write multi -page novels.
But Terekhov, however, wrote - one novel. Which, by his own admission of the writer in an interview with Novaya Gazeta, grew out of a newspaper essay: I do not choose those for books, this is like a disease, as a passion. You accidentally find yourself in the circumstances that you can get out of which, only by paying a few years of your own life by writing a book ...
Three months later it seemed to me that I was collecting material for the essay, in a year I comforted myself by writing a documentary story, three years later I thought: it's okay, I would write a novel. Five years later, it became clear that the investigation became something important in my personal fate that the fact that I and the people who helped me do it resemble the resurrection of the dead, and it is impossible to stop because there were still voices behind each door ...
The feeling that there is a piece of the past that you know more than anyone else in the world that you can remind their child’s nicknames that they yourself have long forgotten ... Compare. The production of truth turned out to be a very cruel business, mutually cruel ... I would never do this just in order to write a book 2. Terekhov took up a journalistic investigation, which fascinated him so much that a small outline turned into an eight -senior novel, where, again, there are two parallel storylines.
The first is the history of the tragic death of two teenagers from the families of the highest leadership of the USSR. The young son of the People’s Commissar Vladimir Shakhurin fell in love with Nina Umanskaya Odnoklassnik. The daughter of a diplomat must fly to Mexico with his father, but Vladimir against. He invites Nina to a date on a stone bridge, shoots her back of her head, and then kills himself with a shot in the temple.
The story is colorful, mysterious, and in our time, attractive also to the fact that we are talking about the times of the Stalinist rule. Stalin, by the way, in the novel is called the "emperor." The second line is the being and consciousness of the protagonist, which after decades investigates this story. Trying to get to the bottom of a certain secret that promises terrible and dangerous adventures - for, apparently, it leads to secret archives and deep basements of the KGB.
The character himself is also a former security officer, although there is no clarity here, and why he was generally engaged in the tombstream - it is incomprehensible. He and his team call themselves “people of truth” and try to establish this truth without sparing forces and means. Both the topic and volume impressed the literary public. True, although the novel received the two largest awards - the National Bestseller and the Great Book second place, criticism took him more negatively than positively.
Most reviewers pushed two points: the cynicism of the protagonist in relation to representatives of the human race, especially women, and volume. Nemzer did not even split into a separate review, but casually remembered the “Stone Bridge” in the review of the finalists of the “Big Book”: when a list of applicants for the “Big Book” was announced, I read about a quarter of Terekhov’s pages of two hundred.
I did not like him even then, but there was a hope that this “not my” book would be big. It did not come true. Big perhaps the author’s enormous ambitions, and the novel is small, albeit excellently long, long, long ... 3 joints with Nemzer and A. Narinskaya: “The main thing here is not to surrender on the first pages, when a feeling that is best formulated by the exclamation“ until it is long!
It is possible that a lot of things are excavated there and recognized - neither to distinguish it, nor to trust this ... ”Anna Narinskaya. Bykov Dmitry. Terekhova E. Subscribe to complete access to the archive. Already signed? Automate to access the complete text. Article in PDF.
