He fell into the South Tank Division of the 9th Mechanized Corps of Major General K. Rokossovsky, who was deployed in the city of Novograd-Volynsky Zhytomyr region.
He learned to the mechanic-driver of the tank T in this position and found the beginning of the Great Patriotic War. Already on June 23, the 9th mechanized corps received an order to meet the troops of the German 1st Panzer Group Kleist, breaking through the positions of the 5th Army of the South-Western Front on the western border in the area of Vladimir-Volynsky fortified district.
In the early days of the war in the triangle of Lutsk - Rivne - Brody, the first fierce tank battle of the Great Patriotic War occurred, in which the younger sergeant Dzhumagulov also participated. Katukova joined the battle in the area of the town of Klevan. The Dzhumagulov tank, along with other combat vehicles, was stepping on the village of Petushki, which is 20 km northeast of the village of Mlynuv.
Our tankers inflicted serious losses to the Nazi troops, but they could not saddle the main road leading from the west to Zhytomyr and also retreated to the Koleni with losses, and the Germans still broke through to the cities of Dubno and the prison. Despite the heroic efforts of the tankers, the Nazis and other mechanized corps in the direction of Shepetovka and Berdichev could not detain the Nazis.
On this day, the tankers of the tank division managed to advance 12 km. At the same time, 10 tanks, 2 artbathars from the Motorized Division of the Germans were destroyed to the Nazis. But in connection with the general departure of the Soviet troops to the border of the border of the year, the success of the tank division did not receive development, and the tankers again had to go to their original positions.
But by joint efforts it was possible if the Nazis could not be discarded far to the West, but at least stop their rapid offensive and inflict even greater losses. By July 9, the Nazi troops broke through the "Stalin line" in the area of Novograd-Volynsky, Polnoy, Lyubar and occupied Zhitomir and Berdichev. But on July 12, the tankers were ordered to intercept the breakthrough of the German tank division in Zhytomyr.
On this day, T Jumagulova, together with other crews, participated in the counterattack west of the city of Novograd-Volynsky, and, having inflicting significant losses, tankers of the 9th mechanized corps captured the villages of Bronniki, cutting the highway Rivimomir. This was another success of Katukov’s division, which was also not developed by our other troops. The very next day, parts of the Libstandart Adolf Hitler SS division approached the place of our breakthrough, with which the crews of Dzhumagulov and other combat vehicles had to fight for several days, holding the highway.
The losses of the losses that had begun in heavy battles had to retreat again to the area of the city of Malin. A seriously wounded driver pulled out a burning car and saved the crew of the tank V. Dzhumagulov was evacuated to the rear hospital. At the end of November, after leaving the hospital, Sergeant Dzhumagulov was sent to the Leningrad Front, where he was enrolled in one of the separate tank battalions.
But in the first battle in the direction of the Nevskaya Dubrovka - the Fortress Shlisselburg Tank Dzhumagulov was again driven out by enemy artillery, and the tanker was again in a cure. After the second hospital and a short stay in one of the tank brigades of the Western Front, Dzhumagulov was sent to the courses of the junior lieutenants of armored troops. Here, for several months of the year, he mastered the specialty of the commander of the average tank of T in November of the year, the junior lieutenant Dzhumagulov was enrolled as the commander of the tank in the forming separate tank regiment.
Next month, the regiment arrived at the Bryansk Front and entered the army. And in January of the year, the Voronezh-Kastornensky operation of the troops of the Voronezh and Bryansk fronts began. During it, the regiment in which Dzhumagulov fought, came on the very right flank of the general offensive. Due to the fact that the Nazi command strengthened its Orlovsky district due to the 9th Army withdrawn from the Rzhevsky protrusion, the promotion of the troops of the Bryansk Front in this direction was insignificant.
The Dzhumagulov tank took place with heavy battles of only about 40 kilometers along the railway between the Verkhovye and Zalegoshch stations. After the operation, the eastern point of the Northern Oryol bend of the Kursk arc was the end of the operation. During the spring-summer operational pause of the year, the army was transferred to the Central Front, and the strip of its defense shifted somewhat south of the Yelets-Orel railway.
Our 8th and I am shooting divisions defended here. By 6 o’clock, the Nazi troops managed to burst into the location of our troops in some areas. Especially strong battles unfolded in the area south of the village of Aleksandrovka, the consonant and the station of Maloarkhangelsk, located 15 km from the city. A number of our artillery units and Katyusha were hastily thrown here.
In addition, in the lane of the 8th Infantry Division, a separate tank regiment was abandoned to restore the situation towards the Nazi tanks. The younger lieutenant Dzhumagulov rushed forward. The gunners and guards mortars did their job - several enemy tanks were set on fire, and the rest began to leave. But the tank attack in which Dzhumagulov participated was successful - the enemy troops that penetrated the location of our defense were partly destroyed and thrown into their original positions.
In this battle, the crew of Dzhumagulov settled the German average tank and destroyed to 20 German soldiers. The next day, a counterattack of our troops was planned, and the Dzhumagulov tank, as part of his regiment, together with the units of the Rifle Division, tied the battles for Trosn, the southern outskirts of the consonant and Semenovka. To the left were the brigades of the Civil Code of the Tank Corps.
The battle with the fascist "tigers" was an airplane, and the task of defeating the enemy could not be fulfilled. The Dzhumagulov regiment in the area of the consonant also could not break through the enemy’s defense, but achieved a draw - the rifle divisions had to stop the offensive and hastily equip the defense line here, exhibiting minefields. Until July 12, at this turn, the crew of junior Lieutenant Dzhumagulov participated in the reflection of numerous opponent counterattacks and destroyed 3 more enemy tanks and many infantry in these battles.
And on July 15, the general offensive of the Soviet troops began, and by order of the command, the separate tank regiment began its advance in the direction of Zmiyovka station. On the same day, the younger lieutenant Dzhumagulov was awarded the Order of the Red Star, for the courage and heroism, manifested in defensive battles on the Oryol-Kursk arc.
Zmiyovka station was released only on August 5, one day with the cities of Orel and Belgorod. In honor of this, the first salute was produced in Moscow, the small Tolik of which was in honor of Junior Lieutenant Elmurza Dzhumagulov. In August, he received the title of lieutenant. In September, Lieutenant Dzhumagulov during the Chernihiv-Pipyat operation participated in the battles of the liberation of the southern regions of the Bryansk region-Sevsky, Suzemsky, Klimovsky.
On every water barrier - the gum rivers, shipping, dreams - the Nazis organized stubborn defensive lines, blew up bridges and crossings, and the tankers had to conduct heavy offensive battles.
Very often partisans of the Bryansk forests helped out, who indicated the optimal bypass tracks, as well as fords through numerous small rivals. So, with their help, a tank company, which included in Dzhumagulov, managed to defeat the enemy defensive line along the railway embankment south of the village of Pogar. Then Dzhumagulov south of the village of Zlynka was one of the first in his unit to cross the border with Belarus.
By mid -October, tankers reached the River River. Ahead on the enemy side was the city of Gomel. The tankers of a separate tank regiment managed to force the co -co -set river only in November after the rifle units. During the Gomel-Rechitsky operation, Dzhumagulov participated in direct battles for the city of Gomel, which was liberated on November 26. Subsequently, by the end of December, the tankers crossed the south of Rechitsa River Dnieper and north of its Berezin River and went into the marshy interfluve to the near approaches to the city of Zhlobin.
Here the front line was relatively stabilized until the summer of the year. For the difference in the battles for the city of Gomel and during the entire autumn offensive, Lieutenant Dzhumagulov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. Then, at the beginning of the year, he became a senior lieutenant, and he was appointed commander of a tank platoon. The battles of tactical significance in the direction of the cities of Zhlobin and Rogachev continued the whole spring of the year.
Despite the swampy area, they were also involved in the tanks of the separate tank regiment. Especially important was the bridgehead of our troops on the Dnieper north of Rogachev, conquered by the divisions of the 3rd and Armies of the Belarusian Front.
