The hero became one of the most popular movie meants along with Freddie Kruger, Jason Wurchiz. In addition, Michael became part of the Gallery of Maniac Wacking Masks - like a leather face from the Texas Masopile Revenge, a murderer of a ghost of a scream and others. The story of the creation of the character was the director of the film John Carpenter, he also developed the image of the main character, invented his story and motives for the murder.
The creator of the picture wanted to show the audience “pure evil”, the embodiment of the dark forces enslaving the soul of man. It is impossible to fight this evil - it is something natural, ancient, bursting from the shackles of darkness. That is why the character of the film is invulnerable, does not lend itself to bullets of the gun, chopped knife wounds, fire. Myers himself is a monster that destroys innocent sacrifices on his way.
In order for the hero to look more frightening on the screen, a special mask was made for him. The basis for her was the mask of Captain Kirk from the series “Star Way” - it was a little corrected and covered with white paint. The idea to create such a character, according to the director, visited him while studying at college. Once a group of students, in which Carpenter was also, went to a psychiatric hospital in Kentucky.
Among the patients that John saw there was a teenager with a terrible, sinister look. This “schizophrenic gaze” shocked the future director, giving the ground for inspiration. The hero of the film does not have a real prototype-in the image of Mayers the features of psychopathic maniacs merged. The biography and image of Michael Myers for the first time appears to the audience at the age of 6 years.
In the year, in the midst of Halloween, a little monster kills Judith's older sister. Mayers are placed in a psychiatric clinic, from which the guy runs 15 years later. Michael returns to his hometown, where he settles in an abandoned house of his parents. Soon the maniac chooses a new victim-a teenage girl Lauri Straud and pursues the heroine. Meanwhile, the attending physician of the killer Sam Lumis arrives in the city.
When the maniac straightens with Lori's friends, the girl’s turn is suitable. However, a psychiatrist saves at the hands of the killer. The doctor shoots at Michael 6 times, which leads to a fall of a madman from the 2nd floor. But Mayers remains alive and running away. Lori is taken to the clinic, and the psychopath tracked down on the hospital, killing everyone in its path to find a girl.
Meanwhile, Lumis learns that Strogood is the younger sister of the maniac. The doctor is in a hurry to the hospital and again saves Lori from death. At the climax, an explosion occurs in the clinic, the heroine manages to flee, Lumis and Michael remain in fire, nevertheless survive. The killer has been in a coma for 10 years, and after that, having recovered, he finds out that Stroged is no longer alive, but the girl managed to give birth to a daughter, Jamie Lloyd.
Now the goal of the maniac is the murder of a niece. The police detachment interferes with Michael's plans, taking him into custody. However, an unknown man kills the guardians of order, takes with him Mayers and Jamie. Again about the maniac becomes known after 6 years. It turns out that the person who took the heroes was Dr. Terens Winn, a colleague of a psychiatrist Lumis.
The doctor created the “cult of Thorna”, for which Jamie was needed for the rituals. The girl is trying to run with a newborn child, but Michael manages to kill her. Jamie's child is surviving. Director Steve Mariner in the end of the 10th proposed his alternative version of the development of events in the film Halloween: 20 years later. According to the plot of the picture, Laurie Straud did not die, but created the illusion of death.
Changing the name and moving to another city, the girl began a new life. Now Laurie has a teenage son John, and the heroine herself is a school principal. Mayers tracks out his younger sister and tries to kill, previously dealing with the students and teachers of the school. Strogood, remaining with the killer alone, decapisons Michael. But over time it turns out that the woman killed not a maniac, but another person.
The heroine enters the house of the insane, where Laurie finds a crazy brother and deprives life. After the psychopath, he returns to the house of the parents, where the reality show is removed. The character kills almost all participants, remaining to live after a fire.
