Biography Gromyko Book

And in Moscow, these coordinates are intersecting. Moscow, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs became the center of political life for our family, and this center had two addresses-Smolensk-Housing Square and our house. The building on the Smolenskaya-Hoom was not just an official address, but a house where the work of the entire Midovo team was boiling, where Gromyko was always located.

There, a place that completely accommodated Gromyko’s spirit in all the openness of his unique diplomatic talent and the charm of the human personality. We believe that he felt confident there, there he was among his own. Father could work anywhere: in Smolenskaya, in the country, on vacation, on an airplane, home, on a hunt, even on another planet. His hand has always been on the pulse of life.

Problems were formed, solving projects were developed, a commander was written ... Together with his father, his squad came to the world of diplomacy - wonderful specialists, each of whom is a decoration and the peak of diplomatic art. Gromyko had the rare quality of the diplomat, which also consisted in the fact that he charged the team with his energy so that the entire “diplomatic orchestra” played at the highest level.

Diplomats are people devoted to their work with all their souls, with all their hearts. And today, many experience nostalgia for the time when everyone worked and lived in such a way as to do everything possible and impossible, so that it would never happen again on June 22. We cannot but express our highest reverence for the personality of the father. Communication with him will forever remain in our memory.

All that Gromyko did, advanced forward and upward the work of Soviet diplomacy; All this contributed to the strengthening of the prestige of our country. From the day of the death of A. Gromyko, generations have changed. The representation and understanding of his personality was not deformed under the pressure of modernity. We are sure that the memory of him will remain in the multiple of the young XXI century.

We, his contemporaries, help to preserve it. Gromyko rose to such a height in diplomacy that nothing could diminish the importance of his role in Soviet history and the history of international relations of the era in which he lived and worked. Throughout the life of his father, Lidia Dmitrievna Gromyko, a great woman, the “motor” of our family, to whom we children owes everything, has always been next to him.

In the memoirs of his father, a “memorable” reader will constantly meet the image of Lydia Dmitrievna. She seems to be invisibly at all stages of the wonderful biography of her spouse. She in fairly shared with him both the hardships and all the joys of his unusual, not like anyone, life. Dad treated his mother anxiously, gently, the soul in her did not dull. Our parents lived together fifty -nine years.

All their lives they practically did not part with each other and, as it were, made one together together. Mom considered her dad to take care of her paramount duty. Mom did a lot of public work. Over her life, she organized a huge number of protocol events, both in our country and abroad. Our parents lived in the days of formidable and joyful, strict and happy. Each of them was a person with a capital letter.

Their images are for us, members of the Gromyko family, an example, and we carry them through our lives with great respect and reverence. All the people close to Gromyko people, each in their own way, remember my parents and pay tribute to them. Large talented personalities with a powerful charge of energy always reveal their abilities widely. Their inner world is in harmony and mental balance.

Despite the fact that his father was not engaged in sports as such, when he was sixty years old, he began to engage in gymnastics with dumbbells every day, not forgetting to take dumbbells in foreign labor. When he went to the sea, he swam a lot, did exercises on the beach. However, the true pleasure for his father was walking, which he enthusiastically engaged in summer and winter.

In the beginning of the X, he established an iron rule for himself: every evening it sometimes turned out to go for a walk for 30-40 minutes and adhered to it, with the exception of, of course, the periods of foreign business trips. Father loved classic painting and music, especially opera. The opera took a special place in his life. It was an art synthesizing music and visual images.

He collected a collection of paintings, although he was not a collector. For him, this collection has become part of a huge world of art. In the same row there is a fascination with Gromyko with a cinema. Meetings and sincere conversations with writers, poets, actors, filmmakers, musicians, artists, sculptors became not only an outlet for his father, but also allowed him to better and wider to perceive the world around him.

Father was fond of hunting. She was a completely different world for him. He noticed that this lesson to some extent turned him off from business, “letting him out of work. Hunting for the father was not only a meeting and martial arts with dexterous and dangerous predators, but also a great opportunity to feel the uniqueness and mystery of the world. In nature, he experienced exciting moments, admiring her extraordinary beauty, felt complete harmony between her and man, his soul was filled with peace, and he was the strength, freedom and joy of cognition.

Father considered books a good vacation for himself. He loved books very much, a printed word. He read artistic and memoir literature, was interested in the epistolary work of outstanding Russian and Western European writers and poets, was also read out by historical works, especially in Russian history. With pleasure I read the philosophical works of great intellectuals who lived in different eras.

A critical analysis of the past, present and future with a philosophical, economic and political point of view extremely attracted it. In the evenings, we could see how the father sat comfortably in the chair in the minutes of rest, took a volume of one or another author and plunged into the reading process. Father read enthusiastically. Sometimes he, members of the family, shared his impressions of what he read.

He collected a large library, which also included books on art, mainly in Russian and English. Dad believed that the book is an extremely important factor in human education and that the formation of his worldview largely depends on the correctly selected library. Father was an extraordinary person. He fully revealed his gift in a diplomatic, political field due to his fantastic giftedness and hard work.

He was a man of exceptional energy. He possessed high professionalism, phenomenal abilities and memory, a high sense of responsibility. He was honest in politics and is clean morally. All this made him a unique phenomenon among many political figures of the modern world. Gromyko was an adherent of intellectual traditions, the spiritual atmosphere that surrounded him.

Its essence was so substantial and deep that all the perpetual would not distort it. Gromyko is a model of a diplomat. The intellectuality and expressiveness of his image was deeply imprinted in the memory of contemporaries. Many had the happiness of being next to him, working with him side by side or just watching him from the side. All this contributed to the development of the people surrounding him, the feelings of the involvement of the ongoing historical processes.

Before you is a bright person. And he is a diplomat by fate. In the diplomatic world, he is a measure of attitude to business and to his life in general. For more than half a century of his life, the father gave the homeland. All his activities were aimed at ensuring the security of our country, at the establishment and development of friendly relations with other countries of the world, at the exaltation of the role and prestige of our state in the world arena and in global policy.

Father had a powerful mind. He was a wise man. We believe that he knew about his purpose and found appropriate funds for its implementation. Life is given once. Father passed her meaningfully, beautifully. He took a worthy place in the history of Soviet diplomacy, which laid a solid foundation for the subsequent positive development of our foreign policy. Father was selflessly devoted to his homeland.

After leaving his life, he left behind his memory as a man who confidently directed our ship along the waves of the ocean to the calm and storm. The reprint of the memoirs of Andrei Andreyevich Gromyko “memorable” is timely and noble. In his memoirs, the father once again went his life path. He wrote about what he had to do with, and about what he simply watched.

Father gave an objective assessment of the events that he was a participant, gave a true characteristics of the activities of persons that his fate has encountered and who also related to the events. He wrote first of all about what was closest to him, that he was most worried. In conclusion, we want to say that Gromyko was one of the outstanding and unique diplomats of the 20th century, who had a strong influence both on the history of Soviet diplomacy and the history of international relations of the second half of the 20th century.

Many historical events of the 20th century, the centuries of great hopes and great achievements are associated with his name. The idea of writing memories was offered by many people. The same thought was expressed by work comrades, close, and completely unfamiliar Soviet citizens, and even foreigners. Often I received letters in which a simple question was asked in different ways: “Will memoirs soon appear?

And I, in addition to a very vague intention, someday in the future, to begin writing something like that, there was nothing definite for a long time. But still, when my seventy “layout” flashed through a glimpse, I thought ... or maybe really write?
