He went with his parents to crafts, owned weapons, repaired and installed fishing tackles, studied the basics of shipbuilding. In the year, a set of people to serve in Siberia, in Tobolsk, took place.
A person was required. The center of the collection of free people was the great Ustyug. Among those who went on the road was Semyon Dezhnev. In the year, he, as part of the detachment of Mikhail Stadukhin, goes to Oymyakon to collect Yasak from Evenks and Yakuts. The Verkhoyansk ridge crossed the detachment and reached the Indigirki River, and there, hearing from the locals about a certain full -flowing river Kovyma Kolyma, decided to get to it.
The expedition turned out to be successful: by indigir, and then by the sea the explorers reached the mouth of the river, becoming its discoverers. But their attempt to go along the shores of Chukotka was not successful. But the next year, Dezhnev and Alekseev began a new journey. From the mouth of Kolyma on the heads of sailing ships, they reached the mouth of the Anadyr River, thereby proving that there is a division between Asia and North America.
However, this historical discovery for a long time was unknown, since all documents about the campaign were stored in the Yakutsk Ostrog. In fact, Bering opened this strait a second time. In the Bering Strait, they passed the cape, which was the northeastern point of Asia, which was called a large stone nose. On modern maps, this cape is called Cape Dezhnev.

Alekseev Popov himself, after his ship was carried ashore Kamchatka, died of scurvy a few years later. There were 24 people left in Dezhnev’s team, with whom he landed south of the Anadyr mouth, and by winter reached the mouth of the river.
The results of the trip were the drawing of Anadyr, a detailed description of the nature of the region, the conditions of swimming along the river and the story of the Eskimos living on the banks of Chukotka and neighboring islands. In the fall of the year, Dezhnev made an unsuccessful attempt to get to the Kamchatka Territory and was forced to return.
In the year, he discovered a large sea rooster near the mouth of Anadyr. The walrus was a more profitable source of income than fur. Up to a year, Semyon Dezhnev continued to serve on the banks of the Bering Strait, engaged in food, fishing and trade. In the indicated year, at his request, he was replaced, and he went on a long way to Moscow. For four years this journey continued, and only in September did he reach Moscow.
In Moscow, Semyon Ivanovich sold everything obtained in the north, and this was about 4.6 tons of walrus fangs in the amount of 17 rubles. A full calculation was made with him, and he received rubles and the rank of Cossack chieftain. Upon returning to Siberia, he continued the service, collecting Yasak on the rivers Olenek, Yana, Vilyui. In the year, he again delivered the sable treasury to Moscow.
In Moscow, Dezhnev fell ill and died at the beginning of the year. The biography of Semyon Dezhnev stores many glorious, but difficult pages.
