He shares this desire with his patients. At the beginning of the year, Soslan Gappyevich was awarded the “We will live” in the nomination “Legends of oncology” for outstanding merits. In the morning, bypass, then checking personal files and an endless reception of patients. For so many years, Karaev was used to this regime of the day. Almost half a century ago, the bewildered graduate of the North Ossetian State Medical Academy did not know how he would work in such a complex profession.

Now colleagues are equal to an experienced specialist. Immediately after receiving the diploma, Soslan Gappevoeva, together with his friend, went to work in the Urals, in the city of Asbest.

At the distribution in the medical part, they were sent to the Sverdlovsk region. They didn’t look at us for a long time, the doctor says. He jokes, as soon as they realized that it was not “wooden”, they immediately sent to emergency surgery, and a month later they gave independent operations. Even then he knew that human life depends on each solution.

And he has learned forever, this profession does not forgive mistakes. They didn’t want to let go of home, the doctor says, but far from his homeland it was difficult and returned to Ossetia 3 years later. And in the year Suscted Gappevoevo transferred a heart attack. After recovery, he returned to work in the oncological dispensary, but refused the head of the head.

Young people need to be given the road, says the surgeon, and adults should help and prompt. And the point is not even the diagnosis, but how much he believes in recovery. During the bypass, you can hear patients about death, he says, and when you go to them, in the eyes - a hot desire to live. And after the most difficult operations, you remember this look and think only about them, the specialist admits.

And Soslan Karaev fights with this disease all his life. Thousands of operations and patients. More recently, in Moscow he was awarded the prize “We will live” for outstanding merits in the nomination “Legends of oncology”. Many years ago, when Sosena Gappoevich was just starting his way in medicine, his mentor said: “If he put on a white robe, be ready to take a scalpel at any time and bear responsibility.” And this phrase has become a motto that it follows to this day.
