Without waiting for the necessary words from her father, Tanya left work and began to lead a bohemian lifestyle. Elena's disease, still skillfully hidden, led to a long loss of memory. At that moment, she had a long dream about the intermediate world, with characters from the past and from the future, about the deep essence of people and the connections between them. Not meeting true love, Tanya marries one of the Goldberg brothers, the sons of a like -minded person and friend Pavel Alekseevich.

Burning, she leaves south, where she meets the talented saxophonist Sergey. Both quickly understand that they are created for each other and at the end of the southern tour Tanya leaves for him in Leningrad, where the daughter of Eugene is born. For some time they live a happy life filled with music and mutual agreement. Her happiness is overshadowed only by an incomprehensible disease of her mother and awareness of her responsibility for aging family members.

The second, desired pregnancy of Tanya ends tragically: she dies in the Odessa hospital due to medical care not provided on time. Elena never found out about the death of her daughter. The epilog finds out that Elena, only for a short time emerging from a state of unconsciousness, has much survived her husband and lives with Tom's family.
