According to the recollections, it was a cheerful, friendly and companionable guy who enjoyed the respect of his peers. This is evidenced by the only photograph of Viktor Petrovich, who has survived to me.

Soon, grandfather Petr Vasilievich went to the front. He was a lieutenant colonel, a political worker. Successfully went through the whole war and returned home to Klin for the old place of work. My father Anatoly Petrovich completed classes in the aero club in the year and entered the Chuguev flight school. And soon his dream came true for a year, he met a fighter-fighter near Stalingrad.

He fought in the ranks of 38 Guards Fighter Avia Regiment, famous in particular by the fact that the pilots of this regiment shot down the famous fascist acce of the Iron Chancellor Bismarck. And this required excellent flight and combat skills of our pilots and considerable courage. During the period of the Battle of Stalingrad, the regiment produced over military sorties, held air battles and shot down the enemy aircraft.

After the defeat of the Nazis near Stalingrad, the father fought on the Southern Front, in Crimea, in Romania and ended the war in the sky over Czechoslovakia.

And everywhere he was famous as a skilled combat pilot and a good friend. After the war, he married Galina Alexandrovna Tsepalova and continued to serve in Rostov on the Don. Then, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, he was transferred to Astrakhan to the post of deputy commander of the flight training regiment. One of the first began to fly on jet fighters.

Successfully mastered the first blinks. During the period of destructive reforms in the army, which was carried out by N. Khrushchev, in connection with the reduction of fighter air regiments, his father was dismissed. He worked in the dispatch service of the Vnukovo Airport. Like many pilots of the first jet aircraft, Anatoly Petrovich had a sore heart- significant overloads affected.

He survived two heart attacks. He died in the workplace on April 12, on the flight day of the first cosmonaut Yuri Alekseevich Gagarin.
